TIPS FOR ENTERING AT THE END

A Guide on How Not to Panic

JUMP TO:

Media

Upload Early
Don't wait until the Final Deadline day to start uploading your media. Upload it to your account to take advantage of faster load times before the deadline rush.

Start your upload. Take a break.
Uploads can take time, especially with larger video files. Take advantage of it — start your upload, then grab a cup of tea, walk your dog, eat a sandwich. Come back to check once it's done.

Worried your file didn't upload?
All video uploads will be encoded on our servers. If you see any file's Media Status as Encoding or Complete you can start attaching it to entries.

Organize Your Files
Did you know you can create Groups of your media files? These can be used as filters when attaching those files to your entries. Create a group for a project, a client, or anything else that helps you get to the right files faster when creating the entry. You can add media to groups from the Manage Media page, or from the Media Groups page.

Credits

Don't let credits slow you down.
The only credit required to submit your entry is the Primary Credit. All additional credits can continue being edited after you submit.

Start adding credits that you know
Still waiting on that case video edit to be finished? Take advantage of the time to add any credits you already have confirmed to your account via the Manage Credits page.

Entering One Show and ADC Awards

Did you know you can clone an entry from one competition to another?
Finish your entry in The One Show (or ADC Awards) and then send a request for it to be cloned into the other competition.

How does this help you and your stress level?
Your media, credits, and entry information will be cloned onto the new entry. The more complete your entry is before cloning, the less you have to do on the new one! Please note that the two shows and all categories may require different media and information. Once your entry is cloned into the second system, you will need to select a category, review the entry, and fulfill any missing requirements.

Can I clone an entry on the Final Deadline day?
Please don't. It can take up to 48 hours for our team to process your request. You should request any clones no later than Wednesday, February 26.

How does it work?
Details on cloning entries between competitions can be found here.

Editing / Updating Entries

Can I make changes to my entries after I submit?
When you submit your work, you are agreeing to submit those entries as provided.
The following locks on your entry when you submit:

  • Entry Details (Client, Title, Single/Series): LOCKED
  • Media (Judging & Supporting): LOCKED
  • Information: LOCKED
  • Credits: CAN BE EDITED
  • Entry Showcase: CAN BE EDITED

Can I change my mind and withdraw?
Your entries are officially submitted after you Proceed to Payment and select the checkbox to agree to submit all entries, and that no refunds will be offered. After this, your submitted entries can be found on the Closed / Submitted Entries page.

Other Things to Note

The Earlier the Better
The One Show team reviews each entry before it goes into judging. We will reach out to you if we come across any issues with your entries. Please note that entry issues must be fixed right away in order to get the work into judging.

My credit card got declined!
Even if your payment is declined, your entries have been submitted. Do not recreate your entries. They can be found on the Closed / Submitted Entries page or your Invoices page. More information on payment errors can be found here.
